Belt Parkway Bike Path Closed
I live in Marine Park and on nice weekends like to follow the Greenway bike path along the Belt towards Queens. The last time I went I found the path closed just pass Erskine Ave. between Crossbay Blvd. I have filled out a from on the parks dept. website asking about this and when it will reopen, but as of yet no response. Do you guys have any clues to when it may open again, or who I can contact to find out?

call the Brooklyn Borough Parks Commisioner’s office – ask for the chief of staff.
Seems to me that’s been partially blocked off and on for at least the past two summers. One of those small construction projects that has no deadline. I don’t know the local streets very well ( I should bring a map), so I wind up on Linden and S Conduit trying to get to Cross Bay Blvd–a big, noisy disappointment after the peaceful bike trail. (Except for crossing some of those bridges–jeez, what’s more dangerous than meeting an oncoming bike on one of those, with with no barrier from Belt Parkway traffic?)
Good news (maybe):Last Saturday there were actually some guys at work (on a weekend!) near your photo. Maybe they will finally finish.
This section of the greenway is being renovated and expanded. It should be done in about a month, and better than ever.
This path is now open!!

I complained about that particular section back in 1992 and was told that drainage was being studied and that it would be completed soon.
