At approximately 10 a.m. today, there was a carjacking on East 34 St and Avenue S. Fortunately, the victim was not injured.
Following a long pursuit, the carjacker was caught and arrested by officers from the 63rd Pct. The perp fits the description of the man responsible for a series of recent carjackings in the 63rd.
We are pleased that an arrest was made and appreciate the swift response by the NYPD. My office will ask District Attorney Hynes to prosecute this individual to the fullest extent of the law as police information suggests that the alleged perpetrator is a serial and possibly violent criminal.

I do have a question about the recurring brown water we are experiencing. The DEP explained E36 St has had brown water for 3 days and it happens when the hydrants are flushed by the fire department. DEP said to run the water for 10 minutes and it should clear. As a 30+ year resident of E34 St I expect the brown water to happen 2, possibly 3, times a year. So far this week it seems to be happening each day. Does anyone have any information on why this is happening with such frequency?
…..my husband was just speaking with a new neighbor who said he was cutting his holiday trip short to have a new water heater installed on Monday. My neighbor didn’t understand why he keeps having brown water. My husband explained the problem.

I dont understand why your question is posted in the article about a carjacking. Maybe you should contact one of your local politicians. With an election coming up, i’m sure they will be more than willing to try to help you with your issue.
Has anyone heard of other recent crimes in this area? I overheard someone mentioning that there has been a “few incidents around here lately”-they were discussing the car jacking. Curious…
