It's really sad how jealous people like to make up stories. I don't know how often you read the marineparker, but in lieu of all of the robberies that have taken place in the neighborhood does it really surprise you that the establishment seeks to protect itself, staff, and patrons? It's rather nice that the doormen watch the patrons as they leave so that they aren't robbed by the real bad guys lurking on the side streets.

Went back yesterday to watch the Jets game and it is a good place to watch football. Not too crowded but it can get a bit noisy at times with all the different games running on the nine TVs in the bar area. The buy backs were less frequent that the day before but one of the owners came in and bought a round. They seem to be a bit over staffed for the amount of customers and a very green young bartender made a major faux pas by charging me for a drink after his partner had announced that they were changing the guard. That wound up costing them a pretty decent tip.

My wife met me for dinner at around 7PM and we were seated right away but asked to move to a more comfortable table as we were seated in a busy section for some unknown reason. With all the staff running around they only had one waitress working and she was a bit slow in taking our order. The buffalo wings were OK but a little too spicy for a medium level order for my taste. The cup chicken soup was pretty good and my order of chicken parm was just fair but they give you a large portion. The waitress forget to bring my baked potato but she threw in an order of fries, which are pretty good, with my dogie bag. My wife had the fish & chips which she said was OK. They served fresh grilled vegetables with both our orders which were good but a touch heavy on the garlic. We both had Irish coffee for dessert which was good.

They have two large TVs in their backroom restaurant area so you can eat without missing any game action. I could see the backroom getting a bit crowed & noisy if full as it appears they are trying to fit as many people back there as possible.

Seems like they have some service fine tuning to work on but it was an overall OK experience outside of the Jets losing and a few loud mouth "degenerate gambler" types hanging out at the bar.

I hung out there for a bit this afternoon and it was an enjoyable experience. The bartender was very friendly and the staff was working hard even though it wasn't too crowded initially. Bottle beer prices are a bit high for a neighborhood place but the bartender takes care of you & they have nine TVs in the front of the bar so it's a great place to watch sports. The bar food is also a bit expensive but the prices of what may have been their lunch entrees was comparable to Nora's. They seem to have opened the back room up for eating but I never got back there to check it out. I want to go back on a Sunday to checkout the football availability on all nine screens. Initial impression is that it's a nice place with friendly & efficient staff.

Wow, are they the same owners of Amici in GB that everyone pretends is a legit coffee house/bar that is really a gambling den? I'd rather see closed up storefronts than have this element in our midst.

As a former neighbor of Flood's Tavern, AKA Bill Mann's, AKA Doyle's(I used to live @ 3708 Quentin), it is nice to see a new face on the old place. I hope it will become a staple for good food and good times in the Neighborhood I once called home. Please patronize the new place with memories of the old days on Quentin Road in mind. God Bless.
